Dear User,
Welcome to the Asite Summer 11 Release. There are many new features available for you to use, details of which you can find below.
Kind regards
Asite Product Team
1. New Functionality
Asite Summer 11 Release includes the following new functionality:
1.1 Portal
The Favourite Workspaces portlet now has links to take you directly to your incomplete actions and unread comments within your Workspaces. |
1.2 Asite Directory
Allow organisations to record multiple Branch / Office details in the Asite directory. The Asite Directory is also accessible directly from the main www.asite.com website as well as in the Community (www.asite.com/community) site. If you would like to publish details of your tender / bid opportunities on the Asite Directory, please contact Asite Support support@asite.com / +44(0)845 130 5550 |
1.3 Document Manager
Users can share hyperlinks to access documents in Asite with other users with options to open an email including a link, save link as a favourite and email yourself a link. |
Users can now start an AppBuilder form associated to documents stored within the Document basket. |
The Upload Applet has been enhanced to reduce upload times by allowing multiple threads to run concurrently. |
User Login credentials can now be used simultaneously from multiple computers for non-subscription based users. |
Where users do not have access to any Distribution groups, they will automatically be taken to the “Companies” option when assigning actions to other users on Documents and Forms. |
Users can select batches of forms and change their statuses together. AppBuilder functions such as Auto-create can be triggered by status changes using the “Allow auto-creation on Status Change” option in the AppBuilder form settings. |
Administrators can now re-open forms that have been assigned a status that has closed them. |
The Summer release includes performance enhancements to improve the performance of data queries (call-backs) made to the server by AppBuilder forms. These include optimising the data transferred between the user’s computer and the Asite servers as well as indexing of the data on the server to reduce the time taken to query the database. These enhancements will automatically be used by call-backs within existing AppBuilder forms. |
The Responders Collaborate setting for AppBuilder forms has been extended to allow usage with Non-controller-based forms. This allows administrators to control the visibility of responses coming from multiple responders from one another. This allows for example, commercially sensitive responses to forms to be hidden from multiple responders. |
Users can share hyperlinks to access AppBuilder forms in Asite with other users with options to open an email including a link, save link as a favourite and email yourself a link. |
Users can now design AppBuilder forms with buttons to launch creation of another AppBuilder form within them. During the creation process, data can also be passed to the new form using the “Create New Form” function. This can be used for example to add buttons to launch Reprographics Order Forms from a Bid Return form, making it easier for users to connect Workflows built using AppBuilder. For full details of how to use the “Create New Form” function, please see the Asite Helpfile. |
The getFormsData AI has been extended to allow search based on specific FormIDs and/or MsdIDs to allow faster return of queries in situations where the Form or Message ID is already known. |
