1.1 Website (New www.asite.com Website)

The new Asite.com website includes a new Tab-based navigation (in line with Asite Applications). Users can follow RSS feeds of Asite “News and Events”, follow Asite’s Twitter Updates and share pages on the Website via Facebook, Twitter, Digg and many more using the “Add This” functionality. |

Asite’s Support and Sales teams are accessible via a live chat technology. |
|
The Asite Community Website is the place to discuss the industry, technology and Asite’s applications. The Community Website contains the following interactive communication methods.
|
1.2 Platform
Creation |
New Asite Users can now create their own accounts to enter both Asite Applications and the Community Website. The account creation uses e-mail address verification and CAPTCHA protection to ensure the integrity of the accounts. |
|
The Asite.com website features an new Sign-In page. Users are now required to provide their e-mail address and password to sign-in to Asite, rather than previous username, orgID, password combination. |

Users can update their personal details such as Job title, telephone numbers etc from within the My Account page |
|
Once signed-in to Asite, Navigation is now undertaken using Tabs. Asite Applications such as Workspaces, Reporting etc are accessible from the corresponding “Tab” |
|
Each user gets their own “My Home” tab which they can customise to display the information they wish to see when they enter Asite. The “My Home” page is made up of “Portlets” which are windows that display information from Asite, and other data sources. Users can decide which portlets to have on their “My Home” and can drag and drop the portlets around the page as required. |
|
If users want to have additional ways of organising data within Asite over and above their “My Home”, they can add any number of personal tabs. They can add Portlets to these tabs as required to completely customise their view of Asite. |
|
Asite will be providing a library of Portlets that users can add to their “My Home” and “ Personal Tab” pages. The library will be growing on an ongoing basis so please check the Portlet Library on the Website for updates. To start Asite will be providing the following Portlets:

User will automatically be signed out of Asite after 120 minutes of inactivity. The count-down timer is reset each time the user interacts with Asite. |
1.3 Workspaces
|
The Summer 09 Release sees Projects renamed as “Workspaces”. A Workspace is simply a secure area within Asite to Work with other people. This may be for a project, or it may not. What you use your workspace for is determined by the Modules you install. The functionality has not changed, just the terminology. |
|
A user get access to more and more Workspaces, they can define Favourite Workspaces to be available in the default Workspace listing. These favourite Workspaces are also displayed in the “Favourite Workspace” portlet. |
|
Users can also now assign multiple tags to a Workspace to group them into Programmes of Work, Regions, and Contract Types etc. However you want to categorise your Workspaces, just tag them. A handy Tag Cloud allows you to filter your Workspaces by a particular tag. The cloud visually shows you the most popular tags by varying the font size! |

1.4 Document Manager Module

Users can now define that they like Documents to be “Private” and therefore only visible to users who are Distributed the document. Privacy of a document can be amended by document publishers and folder Administrators. The default selection of whether documents are private or not can also be defined at a folder level. |
|
All users can now view the permission settings on a Folder by selecting the “View Folder Permissions” option within the folder. |
Basket |
User can now visually compare differences between two documents from within the Document Basket as well as from within the Folder. |
|
Users are now provided with a warning message if they try to link a document that has been superseded with a newer revision. |
1.5 Custom Forms / AppBuilder
|
Each Form group now has an ACL security control so that users can only copy templates that they have been given access to into their Workspaces |
|
For users with “Create” rights to a form-type, a “Create New Form” icon will be provided by the form type listing on the Workspace homepage to allow quick addition of new forms. |
|
Workspace administrators can now define that a Form Type can have editable ORI messages. This allows users to go back and update information stored within the form after creation. This is only available where the Form Status is “Open” (or not used) for non-controller based forms. This functionality has been provided to extend the AppBuilder capabilities and allow forms to be used as data-base tables within AppBuilder. |

Workspace administrators can now define that distribution for a Form Type is “Not required” over and above previous options of “Mandatory” and “Optional” distribution. |
1.6 Asite Reporting
|
A series of Standard Reports (including a number of graphical reports) will be provided within the Templates section of Asite Reporting for all users. User can set-up reports based on these templates and schedule them to run at set-times. Users can also set-up reports and use the “Report View” portlet to display the report |

Report templates now have the option as to whether they are compatible with the Asite “Report View” portlet and can therefore be specified to be displayed within the portlet. |
1.7 Procurement Manager (New Module)
|
User of the Asite Procurement Manager module can create Purchase Orders (POs) for suppliers with access to the Workspace. Orders can include items selected from Supplier Product Catalogues stored within Asite’s Catalogue Manager. Orders are automatically processes via the Asite Exchange to the Supplier and delivered via e-mail, Asite Supply or integration dependent on supplier set-up. |

Suppliers can raise invoices against orders and send these back to the purchaser via the Procurement Manager module within the Workspace. |
|
Purchasers can now manage Pre-Qualification of suppliers from the Asite Directory using Pre-Qualification Questionnaires. Built using the Asite AppBuilder, the PQQ form can be simply customised to match your own Pre-Qual process using Microsoft office. |
1.8 Asite Navigator
|
The Workspaces listing in Navigator now defaults to show Favourite Workspaces (As defined using the Favourite Workspaces functionality). Users can select to show all Workspaces and toggle between the two views |
|
User can now synchronise all Documents stored within each of their favourite Workspaces in one operation. |
|
Each folder within Asite Navigator will now provide a visual indicator as to the Synchronisation Status of the folder against the Working Folder so that users will be able to see at a glance folders that are in or out of Synch. |
|
Asite Navigator will now check Working folders and show folders where New Files have been added to the Working Folder that are not stored within Asite. |
|
Users will be able to Upload all of the Missing Files from your Working folder to Asite using the “Publish Newly added Documents” option for the Folder (from Folder Right-Click Menu) |
Messages |
Users will be given a completion message when the Synchronisation operation has successfully completed. |
Folders (For IT Teams) |
IT teams rolling out Asite Navigator across their organisations can request an installer for Navigator to control Working folder paths for users to force shared folder / internal content management systems (SharePoint / Live Link etc) to be used by all users. |
Asite Summer 09 Release has the following changes to configuration requirements and plug-ins:

2.2 Changes to Applets / Plug-ins
PC Configuration Applet
Clicking on the “Check PC Configuration” Link at the Sign In Page will result in the following

Asite Viewer
Viewing a file or comparing a file for the first time in the Asite Viewer will result in the following:
Users will be prompted to download an ActiveX control.
Once downloaded, the user will be able to compare the project documents in the Asite viewer ActiveX.
Download Applet
If “Extract Files on Download” is selected when downloading a file (or when setting up User Preference), the following will happen
Users will be prompted to accept the certificate for updating the Download Applet
Once accepted, the applet will be downloaded and placed in the Java Cache Folder of Sun JVM automatically by Internet Explorer
Upload Applet :
Uploading Files using "Asite Upload" preference will result in the following
Users will be prompted to accept the certificate for downloading the Applet (AsiteUpload.jar).
Once accepted, the applet will be downloaded and placed in the Java Cache Folder of Sun JVM automatically by the Browser
Notes:
1. Updating the applets detailed above DOES NOT require Administration rights on local
machine.
2. Clicking on “Always” option when prompted with a certificate will ensure that similar prompts do not happen for current as well as any other applet signed by Asite. If this option has already been activated, these updates will automatically install.
